The Grand Forks Public Library is a cornerstone of the community, committed to meeting the public's evolving needs by engaging minds and transforming lives. We support a mission to connect the community, enrich the mind and inspire the imagination. The Grand Forks Public Library offers a wide variety of free programs for all ages!
If you like the feel of knowledge in your hands we have several print materials such as best sellers, travel guides, magazines, newspapers, even telephone books. We have a large collection of reference material for career guidance, maps/atlases, North Dakota and local history, and much much more!
For the more digitally savvy library goer we have e-books, e-magazines, videos, dvds, cds, Nooks, video games, and Roku sticks. Our online resources also include free tutoring for every age, Universal Class with a large collection of free online courses, small business resources, ancestry/genealogy resources, and financial help.
When it comes to activities and fun things to do the library has something for everyone. Story times are held three days a week for infants through preschoolers, robotics, STEM, and garden clubs take place throughout the year as well. Teens and tweens have their own special space in the library and meet monthly for teen cafe, Animanga club, and the graphic novel book club. Adults can take advantage of dop in computer help, drop in knitting club, or one of our 7 book clubs. Families have a place two with several different events throughout the year including a free monthly movie (complete with popcorn!)
As a hub for the community, the GF Public Library strives to connect with and support the community through exhibits, monthly programming series, seminars, and workshops. The Library has a computer lab with over 60 computers (and no time limits) free for people to use to access the internet, watch videos, do homework, browse Facebook, you name it. The library also has a community room available for reservation.
