The Chamber Express is mailed out to over 3000 Chamber members twice a year. With each mailing we get various people from the community to invest their time in helping us with this project.
Please feel free to pick and choose which time and dates below that work for you.
You are not obligated to any specific times. We are thankful to any amount of time you can volunteer.
Meeting of the Minds Dementia Conference
The Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter and Mayo Clinic’s Meeting of the Minds Dementia Conference unites people with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) or early dementia, friends and professionals for a day of education, information and support. Each year 1,100 attendees participate in this innovative and insightful conference.
YMCA Annual Indoor Triathlon
Heat up your winter with an INDOOR adventure! Swim, bike and run/walk in the comfort of the indoors. You can seriously push yourself or take it at a slower pace... or somewhere in-between. Conducted in waves of 5 people, participants will swim or walk laps (aqua belts available) for 15 minutes, bike (Keiser cycling bikes) for 20 minutes and run or walk (track or treadmill) for 20 minutes. Top finishers are decided by a percentage conversion of total laps and miles. Prizes will be awarded to top men and women finishers (3rd, 2nd and 1st place). All participants will receive a t-shirt and a participation medal. Healthy snacks will be provided. The event is co-sponsored by See Dick Run. Symphony Sunday: The Forests of Central Europe
Join the diverse and inclusive symphony community on our tour of world symphonic soundscapes at the Empire Arts Center at 2:30 PM on March 4th as we journey through the forests of Central Europe. The concert features music by Wagner and Dvorak along with Reinecke's Flute Concerto.
Join us at 1:30 for the pre-concert musical story telling by conductor Alejandro Drago.
Symphony Sundays are the coolest place to be as we gather in the company of dynamic and diverse people and enjoy beautiful music that lifts our spirits.

Grief Journeys for Adults Support Group
Hospice of the Red River Valley offers a free ongoing grief support group for adults 18 years and older who have experienced a loss through death. The group meets on the second Thursday of each month from 1:30-3 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 3rd St. NW, East Grand Forks, Minn. This group is free and open to the public. For more information or questions, call (800) 237-4629 and ask to speak to the bereavement department.
NVYO Inspired by Nature : Concert
NVYO's three orchestras in concert. Featuring student string, wind, brass and percussion students from the Greater Grand Forks area. Final performance in the Inspired by Nature season.
Six-week Educational Grief Support Group
Hospice of the Red River Valley offers a six-week grief support group open to any adult grieving the loss of a loved one through death. This group offers attendees a safe, supportive environment for sharing their grief and learning from others who have experienced a loss through death. Please note: Participants must be able to attend the first session to participate in the series.

Lunch and Learn: Military Sexual Trauma
Hospice of the Red River Valley invites health care professionals to its March Lunch and Learn on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, from 12-1 p.m. Hospice of the Red River Valley is an approved provider of continuing education for social workers in North Dakota. This program will be awarded 1 contact hour.
Susan Thompson, Military Sexual Trauma (MST) Program Coordinator at the VA Medical Center, will present “Military Sexual Trauma: Understanding, Recovery and Long-Term Effects.” Attendees will learn the definition of MST and how to identify the physical and mental health symptoms that are commonly associated with MST. Participants will gain an understanding of why MST can be so toxic and of the long-term effects this type of trauma often has on a person.
Lunch and Learns will be held at Hospice of the Red River Valley located at 2860 10th Ave. N., Suite 400, Grand Forks.
This event is free and open to all health care professionals. Pre-registration is required because space is limited. RSVP at bit.ly/hrrvlunchlearn by March 6.
