Columbia Mall, United Way partner to sponsor Toys for Tots
GRAND FORKS, ND. Nov. 9 --- The season of giving and goodwill starts at Columbia Mall where the United Way Grand Forks, East Grand Forks & Area is partnering with the shopping center to host the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign.
Tons of toys are needed to help make the holidays special for local children in need. Columbia Mall is an official drop-off site for Toys for Tots, accepting new, unwrapped toys now through Wednesday, Dec. 6. Generous donors can drop off unwrapped gifts in special donation boxes located in the Dakota Café, center court and near Scheels.
Volunteers will ensure delivery of gifts to children in the Grand Forks and East Grand Forks area in time for Christmas.
Thumbs up for those who are all thumbs when gift wrapping. Volunteers for the Grand Forks Optimist Club, stationed near Scheels, will transform packages with wraps and ribbons, for a fee based on package size. The service will be available from Saturday, Dec. 9 through Sunday, Dec. 24, during peak mall hours.
Columbia Mall is home to JCPenney, Sears, Scheels, 70 specialty stores and the Dakota Café food court. Recently opened stores include Flaar and Royal Fashion.
The single-level shopping center is easily accessible at Columbia Road and 32nd Avenue South with direct access to I-29.
